LABOR DAY THANKS

An opportunity to say thank you to the many people who keep the parish running the Office Staff, the Maintenance Crew, the Ushers, the Eucharistic Ministers, the Lectors, the Sacristans, the volunteers who do whatever and whenever is needed, to the Music Ministers, to the altar servers, to the PSCF teachers and aides, to the volunteers who have tended to our yard, to the friends who have brought in snacks and treats for the office staff, to the Board Members of our parish groups, to the people who pray for us and for those who are ill, to all who have done something or other to keep the parish growing and loving and in the Peace of Christ to the priests who assist us and to those ‘far away’ who pray for us! And to those who support us in so many ways!

Weekend of 9/12 & 9/13

BISHOP MALESIC’S INSTALLATION

The Holy Father has appointed Bishop Edward C. Malesic as bishop designate for the Diocese of Cleveland. He will be installed as the 12th bishop of Cleveland on Monday September 14, the Feast of the Exaltation of the Holy Cross, in a Mass at the Cathedral of St. John the Evangelist beginning at 2:00 p.m. All are encouraged to watch a livestream of the Mass online at dioceseofcleveland.org as this event is ticketed and seating is severely limited due to the current public health crisis.

The Mass and installation can also be viewed live on EWTN and heard live and online at AM 1260 The Rock Cleveland Catholic Radio, and AM 1060 Living Bread Radio.

Weekend of 9/19 & 9/20

GRATITUDE

I am grateful to all who assisted with our 9/11 Ceremony. I also am very grateful for the donations that so many of you left ...we will be sending $1,000.00 to the family of the Police Officer who was murdered in Cleveland and buried on 9/11. Thank you once again for your kindness.

Michael Zaderecky

United States Army World War II Veteran (102 years old on April 22, 2020) Deployed to Europe in December 1943, Northern Ireland. Landed on Utah Beach in Normandy France on July 4th, 1944. Fought in the battles of Falaise Gap and the Hurtgen Forest. Credited with shooting down a German plan that was strafing his pin downed unit.

Peter Pivato

Peter Pivato--United States Army--Korea War Veteran. Severely wounded and lost his left hand Sept. 9, 1951. Pete was given the last rites and spent many months moving from hospital to hospital. Peter was honorably awarded the Purple Heart.

Cal Bias

Cal Bias United States Army Korea War Veteran (St. Colette Parishioner) Cal was wounded in Korea on April 23, 1951. He received shrapnel to the chest and spent many months recovering. Miraculously the shrapnel missed a Bandelier he was wearing that carried additional ammunition and 6 grenades. Cal was honorably awarded the Purple Heart.
