What is holy matrimony?
The communion of love between God and people, a fundamental part of the Revelation and faith experience of Israel, finds a meaningful expression in the marriage covenant which is established between a man and a woman.

what steps need to be taken at this time?
Be sure to submit the form below, or call the Parish Office at least 6 months in advance to secure your date. We are blessed to have many weddings at St. Colette, so scheduling is very important!
Following the initial inquiry, you will meet with our Pastoral Associate, Lisa Radey, to begin the Marriage Preparation Process.
You will meet 3-4 times, during which a diocesan-issued strengths assessment will be taken. The assessment allows you to find strengths in each other individually and to grow in strength and love together.
The last meeting will be focused on planning your ceremony, selecting readings, music, etc.
For music selections, please see the attached file here
You will also be required to attend a PreCana Retreat Day!
Congratulations on your engagement and many blessings on your wedding ceremony!
PreCana
PreCana is a mandatory retreat day every engaged couple planning on getting married in the Catholic Church must attend. Our PreCana is open to any engaged couple, you do not have to be getting married at St. Colette.
Our next PreCana will take place on Sunday, April 6, 2025!
Our PreCana day begins with the 10:00 Sunday Mass, includes lunch and concludes by 5pm. This day is an informal gathering with a panel of married couples to talk about married life. Most of the discussion is focused around the book, The Five Love Languages by Gary Chapman. All couples who register for PreCana are given a copy of the book.
To register, email Lisa Radey LRadey@stcoletteparish.com or call the Parish Office at 330-273-5500.
